Here is a 2012 letter from a Minnetrista Veteran, calling for the rest of her ilk to be voted off the council [which Lisa was in 2010] for their callous act:

{Voters may recall that Mark [Vanderlinde] had said he would NOT SUPPORT the proposed new Minnetrista Police Facility if voters were not given an opportunity to vote their approval. Christians and a group of citizens collected petitions of more than 1,000 signatures requesting the right to vote. Council members Lisa Whalen, Al Roers, George Zenanko, and Mayor Cheryl Fischer all voted to deny that right to vote and approve the bonds to build the facility. Mark Vanderlinde voted no.}
The second edge of this travesty is, today the City of Minnetrista is still stuck with a large debt, a half empty mausoleum for a police station and less than drinkable water for many residents!
If you still plan on voting for Lisa Whalen, that's fine; we do still live in a free society and most people get that. However, imagine explaining your decision to this guy:
So your shocked that Lisa bypassed the voters to give then chief Kolb who is now her campaign manager the Stillwater-sized, deluxe police station he wanted? Be silent, you peasant!
ReplyDeleteOur country is currently at war on multiple continents with an enemy that would also not allow us to vote on issues either. Please tell me people in Minnesota are not stupid enough to elect someone like this as their mayor. Jesse and Al are tough acts to top, but this just might do it.

ReplyDeleteAdmittedly I don't have a local dog in this fight, I just followed the link from Facebook. I served in both theaters in the "war on terror" and I will say if what I'm reading here is true, anyone voting for this fool should be delivered to ISIS.
ReplyDeleteVeterans that honored their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States probably remember that a key element is Representative Government, and expect that elected officials will listen and learn.

When Lisa Whalen was on the city council, she and her fellow grifters removed the "citizens to be heard" portion of the council meetings because they didn't care what "we the people" have to say. The current council rightfully reinstalled this segment to the council meetings.

ReplyDeleteThere is something terribly wrong and disgustingly sick about a person like this running for mayor of an American city. One vote cast for her is one vote too many.
