A Precise Example Of What I Was Talking About In My Candidacy Statement
This story in this morning's Star Tribune, underscores how several school districts in the state of Minnesota, were successful in landing $3.8 million in Federal grants for sidewalk repair. Neighboring Minnetonka district was able to land $358,000. Why not Westonka? Why were we not able to secure any of these funds! Sidewalk maintenance is part of the proposed maintenance referendum.
The Westonka School District did apply for this grant. We did not get it. Please correct this misstatement.
ReplyDeleteWhich "misstatement?" The post merely indicates Westonka received nothing, while Minnetonka walked away with $358,000. Perhaps Minnetonka spends more time preparing and less time arguing?
ReplyDeleteI'm voting for Don because he is very smart and knows how to get people with diverse outlooks on subjects to work together.
ReplyDeleteDon recently helped us with a real estate purchase and was instrumental in pointing out pros and cons along the way and patiently led us to a successful completion. He is fiscally very smart and advised us on how to spend our money for the most impact and I am sure he will apply that to the School Board, too.
Don has proven to be a passionate Westonka school volunteer and has initiated several fundraisers and has a track record as a very hard worker.
Plus, he has a great way of using his sense of humor to lighten stressful situations and that is a gift.
